Our Origin
Grown in volcanic soil, named after a mountain — not a marketing desk.
Every bag of Bloom Coffee traces back to one real place: the Gayo Highlands of Aceh, Sumatra. Here’s exactly what that means for what’s in your cup.

The Gayo Highlands, Aceh — Sumatra, Indonesia
Most coffee sold in Pakistan is labelled “imported premium blend,” with no real address behind it. Ours has one. The Gayo Highlands sit around Lake Tawar in the mountains of central Aceh, on the northern tip of Sumatra — volcanic terrain, cool highland air, and generations of smallholder farmers who’ve grown coffee here, not a plantation we own. Both our Arabica and Robusta come from this same highland region, grown at different elevations within it, which is exactly why they taste so different from each other.
Two beans, one highland
Arabica & Robusta — grown side by side, worlds apart in the cup.

Gayo Highlands Arabica
Grown highest in the mountains, where cooler air slows the cherry’s ripening and lets more sugar and complexity develop before harvest. Processed using the traditional Sumatran Giling Basah (wet-hulled) method — beans are hulled while still slightly moist, which is exactly what gives Sumatran Arabica its signature low acidity, heavy body, and earthy, spiced depth.
- Altitude 1,200–1,500m above sea level
- Process Wet-hulled (Giling Basah)
- Flavor notes Dark chocolate, cedar, brown spice, syrupy body
- Acidity Low — smooth, rounded, not sharp

Gayo Highlands Robusta
Grown lower in the same highlands, where the warmer air and hardier Robusta plant thrive together. Naturally more pest- and heat-resistant than Arabica, which lets farmers grow it without the cooler altitude Arabica needs. Traditionally sun-dried on raised beds, giving it a bolder, nuttier cup with roughly double the caffeine of Arabica — the backbone cup for anyone who wants real strength, not just flavor.
- Altitude 400–800m above sea level
- Process Natural (sun-dried on raised beds)
- Flavor notes Dark chocolate, roasted nuts, a bold earthy edge
- Caffeine ~2x Arabica — bold, full-bodied strength
Farm to cup
How it gets from a highland farm to your door.
Hand-picked at origin
Smallholder farmers in the Gayo Highlands hand-select only ripe cherries, picked in small passes rather than one bulk strip.
Processed & dried locally
Each variety is processed the traditional way for its style — wet-hulled Arabica, sun-dried Robusta — before export as green beans.
Roasted fresh in Pakistan
We roast in small batches only once an order comes in — never a warehouse of pre-roasted stock going stale on a shelf.
